Not all AI is bad as we know from Steven Spielberg s â€Å"A.I.† (2001) and today Artificial Intelligence is far from fiction. I’ve always wondered how close could we get to a world where Artificial Intelligence could become a companion, and in my research I have found that programmers and inventors are already working on a companion to ease the sense of loneliness we all feel from time to time. Where Is the Mistake in Parlez-Vous Français

Whats wrong with the French phrase  Parlez-vous Franà §ais?  Thats an easy one: It contains a spelling error. It should be written: Parlez-vous franà §ais? with a lowercase f in franà §ais.  Heres why.   The French word franà §ais has three English equivalents: two nouns (French the language and French the nationality or person) and French the adjective. All three forms are capitalized in English. Language Names Are Lowercased in French In French, however, franà §ais is only capitalized when it is used as a noun identifying a nationality, such as the following: Les Franà §ais aiment le vin (The French like wine). When franà §ais is used as an adjective or refers to the language, however, the f is lowercase, not  capitalized: Jaime le vin franà §ais (I like French wine). Many beginning French students make this mistake, as do many  Francophones  who speak English well.  They capitalize  franà §ais,  espagnol, and the like, whether the word is a noun, adjective, or language because nationalities and languages are always capitalized in English. Likewise, the names of all languages  are lowercase, as with langlais,  le  portugais,  le  chinois,  larabe,  lallemand,  le  japonais,  le russe, etc. For French nationalities, the proper  noun  and adjective are spelled exactly the same, but the proper noun is capitalized, while the adjective is not capitalized.  Thus, in French we write:   un type amà ©ricain (adjective) an American guyBUT  un Amà ©ricain  (noun identifying  nationality) an American  Elle aime la cuisine espagnole. (adjective)   She likes Spanish food/cuisine.BUT  Elle sest marià ©e avec un Espagnol.  (noun identifying  nationality) She married a Spaniard.Jai vu un animal mignon australien. Oral Culture Of The Late Middle Ages - 1468 Words

Given the prevalence of books, magazines, and newspapers in everyday life today, it is difficult to imagine a world without print. The transition from the essentially oral culture of the late Middle Ages to the print culture of the Renaissance fundamentally changed human interaction. In Western society, the invention of the printing press and subsequent widespread literacy signaled the shift away from a primarily oral culture to a literate, print culture. Many scholars, including Plato and Harold Innis, have suggested that the advantages of an oral culture exceed those of a print culture. Even further, the past few decades have seen calls to orality, or propositions that we must return to oral culture to balance print culture. As seen through a lens of the history of print culture, the benefits of literacy and a predominantly print culture outweigh the benefits of an oral culture because of the impact print has had on standardized language and national consciousness, the field of sci ence and accuracy, and the quick dissemination of information and dialogue. Through a comparison of advancements during the Print Revolution and current features of modern society, I will argue that there is no need to re-embrace orality because elements of oral culture already exist in our modern print culture. The Print Revolution was marked by the invention of the printing press and growing industrial capitalism in Europe. The idea of capitalism enabled publishers to seek mass markets forShow MoreRelatedThe Theory Of Human Development1196 Words   |  5 Pageshuman grow process that start with the reproduction, the process of the human body, the brain and internal organs that are developing during the pregnancy, birth, early, middle, and late childhood, adolescence, early, middle, and late adulthood until the end of life. The demand theory comprises of the Maslow ‘s hierarchy of demands theory and it explains the five types of demands in a pyramid format with the basic demands at the lower terminal and so it moves upwards covering the more complicated demands of people such as societal, security, regard and sef realization demands. So fundamentally if a individual ‘s different demands will be fulfilled so the individual will be more satisfied and experience secure and happy and will be able to concentrate his head more on the work because he will be free from these basic jobs and therefore the worker will be able to execute expeditiously and optimally.the lower terminal of the maslow ‘s demands hierarchy theoretical account fundamentally discusses and concentrate on the physiological demands of people such as nutrient, shelter and clothing.once these demands are fulfilled so people want that they should accomplish regard and recognization in the society. Maslows theory thinks that th e fulfilment of the basic demands of peope has the highest actuating possible to drive the people to execute and accomplish them. There is another research worker alderfer ‘s who proposed ERG theory.this theory does non disuss the five demands to specify the motive but alternatively has a thre phase theoretical account covering the undermentioned demands: – Being needs-these are the demands which satisfy a peculiar status for an person. Growth needs-these are the demands which give satisfaction to an person by engagement, association and part. Relatedness needs-these demands satisfy the people by communicating. In the maslow ‘s hierarchy the basic demands are most of import and most coveted and must be fulfilled for the satisfaction of the people but as we move upwars in the hierarchy there are other demands which if fulfilled will be greatly appreciated by the people. Bamboo Crafts of North-east India Essay2 processed based public presentation pay- Wipro has adopted another program of processed based incentive wage wherein it provides a just opportunity to the working staff to execute good and go eligible for this processed based public presentation pay.here the stimulation which drive the workers to execute good is the excess wage they are traveling to have if they will execute well.here the company besides keeps in head that it gives the basic wage to the workers in instance they are non able to execute good or underperform.this will carry through the basic demands of the workers but at the same clip when the other workers will acquire the wages of this excess wage for their good public presentation so it will make an environment of competition between the assorted workers and therefor to accomplish the PBPP and in impulse of viing with the other employees the worker will seek to give his best in order to execute good and this will inturn bett er the public presentation of the company. 3 Productivity linked incentive-This is another inducement program where in the worker recives the wages in the signifier of excess wage if he will execute which proves to be productive i.e his public presentation will gain net income for the company.here besides the stimulation or the motivative factor is to accomplish this inducement by executing good which will inturn increase the productiveness of the company. The other steps taken by the Wipro bpo is particular developing to the underperformers.for example-if you are a telecaller associate and you are unable to execute good in taking your call so wipro bpo will hold a supervising on you and your squad leader will pay attending to you and will besides inform you that your public presentation is traveling down and will steer you and give you clip to better and turn out yourself.in instance you are unable to better and consistentaly maintain on underachieving so you will be placed off calls either partly like for few hours of your whole displacement or to the full based on the degree of your underperformance and so will be given particular preparation to better yourself where you are lagging.incase you are unable to perforam after so much attempts from the company so you are pur on probation period for three months and if there will be excess demand in the other procedures of the company and if company thinks that you are suited to work in t hat procedure so the company will take you in, otherwise you have to go forth the company at the terminal of the mentioned probation period. The other stairss taken by the company includes the publicities and to be eligible to acquire promoted you have to execute to a certain needed level.thus the publicity act as a driving force to actuate the workers to execute good to make their coveted place and to acquire the acknowledgment they ever wanted.this besides helps the workers to carry through their higher degree demands such as ego regard, self realization. Therefore we can see that here the wipro has used the system of wagess and penalities and has followed the Taylor ‘s scientific attack of direction in order to better its public presentation. MOTIVATION AND WIPRO BPO- Wipro bpo has besides followed different theories of motive in order to actuate the workers to execute well.this can be seen in its thought which it call as the â€Å" spirit of wipro † and besides the quality of life, calling and growing chances and the attending it gives sing the issues related to the wellness and household of it employees.we have studied different theories of motive and now we will happen how wipro has made usage of them to increase the public presentation and efficiency of its organisation. BPL vs. DLL in Delphi Programming Applications

BPL vs. DLL in Delphi Programming Applications When we write and compile a Delphi application, we typically generate an executable file - a standalone Windows application. Unlike Visual Basic, for example, Delphi produces applications wrapped in compact exe files, with no need for bulky runtime libraries (DLLs). Try this: start Delphi and compile that default project with one blank form, this will produce an executable file of about 385 KB (Delphi 2006). Now go to Project - Options - Packages and check the Build with runtime packages check box. Compile and run. Voila, the exe size is now around 18 KB. By default the Build with runtime packages is unchecked and every time we make a Delphi application, the compiler links all the code your application requires to run directly into your applications executable file. Your application is a standalone program and doesnt require any supporting files (like DLLs) - thats why Delphi exes are so big. One way of creating smaller Delphi programs is to take advantage of Borland package libraries or BPLs in short. Whats a Package? special dynamic-link library used by Delphi applications Packages enable us to place portions of our application into separate modules that can be shared across multiple applications. Packages, also, provide a means of installing (custom) components into Delphis VCL pallete. Therefore, basically two types of packages can be made by Delphi: Run-time packages - provide functionality when a user runs an application - they operate much like standard DLLs. Design-time packages - used to install components in the Delphi IDE and to create special property editors for custom components. Design packages From this point this article will deal with run-time packages and how they can help Delphi programmer. One wrong mit: you are not required to be a Delphi component developer to take advantage of packages. Beginner Delphi programmers should try working with packages - theyll get better understanding of how packages and Delphi work. When and when Not ot Use Packages DLLs are most commonly used as collections of procedures and functions that other programs can call. Besides writing DLLs with custom routines, we can place a complete Delphi form in a DLL (for example an AboutBox form). Another common technique is to store nothing but resources in DLLs. More information on how Delphi operates with DLLs find in this article: DLLs and Delphi. Before going on to comparison between DLLs and BPLs we have to understand two ways of linking code in an executable: static and dynamic linking. Static linking means that when a Delphi project is compiled, all the code that your application requires is directly linked into your applications executable file. The resulting exe file contains all the code from all the units that are involved in a project. Too much code, you might say. By default, uses clause for a new form unit list more than 5 units (Windows, Messages, SysUtils, ...). However, the Delphi linker is smart enough to link only the minimum of code in the units actually used by a project. With static linking our application is a standalone program and doesnt require any supporting packages or DLLs (forget BDE and ActiveX components for now). In Delphi, static linking is the default. Dynamic linking is like working with standard DLLs. That is, dynamic linking provides functionality to multiple applications without binding the code directly to each application - any required packages are loaded at runtime. The greatest thing about dynamic linking is that loading of packages by your application is automatic. You dont have to write code to load the packages neither you have to change your code. Simply check the Build with runtime packages check box found on the Project | Options dialog box. The next time you build your application, your projects code will be linked dynamically to runtime packages rather than having units linked statically into your executable file.

Housing in UK Master Essay Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Major Causes of Rising House Prices in the UK - Research Paper Example Over the last thirty years, the housing prices in the UK have increased in real terms by nearly three per cent a year. This is in contrast to other countries like France, Sweden and Germany where real estate prices have remained broadly constant or even declined. The determination of prices in local and regional housing markets is a classic example of microeconomics in action. Each housing transaction in the UK depends on the price the seller is willing to sell his property and on the price the buyer is able to pay for it. Buyers place offers for a property that the seller can either accept or reject. When the market demand for properties in a particular area is high and when there is a shortage of quality properties (i.e. supply is scarce) then the seller has the upper hand. This is because there is likely to be excess demand in the market for good properties. Sellers can wait for offers on their property to reach (or exceed) their minimum selling price. Often multiple offers fuel an increase over and above the asking price. When demand both for new and older housing is weak and when there is a glut of properties available on the market, then the power switches to potential buyers. They have a much wider choice of housing available and they should be able to negotiate a price that is lower than the asking price.  When the demand for houses in a particular area increases due to say, an increase in population into the area, or a rise in incomes due to job growth etc., there is upward pressure on market prices.
